The XTU School of Credit Risk Management was officially established at the  university’s 60th Anniversary and Alumni Donation Launching Ceremony held on May 4, 2017. The school, the first of its kind in China, was founded with one hundred million yuan donated by alumni Tan Man. Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress Xie Yong attended the ceremony and was appointed the honorary school dean.

Chairman Tan Man, XTU CPC Secretary Huang Yunqing, XTU President Zhou Yichun, and Vice Presidents Liu Jianping, Liu Changqing, and Liao Yongan attended. Secretary Huang presided over the ceremony.

Tan Man, Zhou Yichun, and XTU Education Foundation Deputy Director-general Xiao Qisen (on behalf of Director-general Zhang Jing) signed the donation agreement at the ceremony. President Zhou awarded the honorary president and president appointment letters to Xie Yong and Tan Man respectively, and offered them school badges.

Tan recalled his first job recommended by XTU teacher, and his law firm jointly started up with XTU schoolmates. His career has always been supported by XTU. Therefore, he decided to make his first donation  to XTU. The donation reflects his gratitude to the school, and moreover, aims  to enhance XTU’s competitiveness and sustainable development in modern education, he added.

The 100-million-yuan funds will be used in school facilities construction, daily operation, talents introduction, sci-tech development rewarding, teaching materials editing, and students training. Tan will also send experienced managers to help the school, and support XTU’s “double first-class university” construction.

Secretary Huang stated that the school was set up to educate students to meet the demands of economic and social advancement. It will further expand XTU’s disciplinary structure and professional connotations. This donation shows XTU alumni’s gratitude and responsibility to the Alma Mater. Facing great developing opportunities, XTU will follow Chairman Mao’s instructions, stick to the original will, and undertake the major tasks of enhancing morality and fostering talents, so as to accelerate building an advanced modern university on the occasion of its 60th anniversary.
